I was somewhat bemused to read about two councillors objecting to the strengthening and upgrade of the Lawson Field Theatre. This is a fine community building, which provides an alternative to the War Memorial Theatre for smaller theatre shows, school groups and other events that do not need the size of the bigger venue.
